Here human development consistently interfaces with wild-lands weaving in and out of it like a patchwork quilt. Drawing on this idea, this home is all about inducing interaction between the edge of building and landscape. With a serpentine form this home creates both pockets of space [inviting vegetation in] and jetties that stretch out into the landscape. This playful form creates cozy pocket gardens as well as public prows for gathering.

FAMILY OF ALL SEASONS : With such a variety of exterior spaces there’s a space for every season and time of day. Vegetated gardens are great for beating the heat and ditching the crowd. Large patios are great for sunning on cooler days. Covered decks protect from rain and sun. You’ll never get bored exploring the possibilities.

INSIDE OUT : Given the variety of pocket gardens, every room has it’s own place where nature comes in so you can go out. This concept really begins to blur the lines between inside and outside.

GIVES YOU WINGS : Giving the guest bedrooms their own wing on the opposite side of the home from the master wing is a great way to ensure your privacy even when you’ve got a full house. Great for you! But also great for your guests. For those long term loafers, the media room and guest wing can be shut down via pocketing doors. That way they get their own living space. No one will be stepping on any body's toes. It’s also a great way to save energy. When you’re empty nesting it, shut down the guest wing to conserve.
