city spaces
Living in the city is not simply a convenience. There is an intimate circumstance to turn inward and focus on details.
While the complexities of building on a city parcel seem limiting, the human need for light, shelter, and privacy remains, especially within a compact footprint. The design response is recognizable geometries, honest materials, and thoughtful engagement with the outdoors, allowing a modest footprint to feel generous.
On what may seem like a constraining urban property, or inside a high-rise stacked above the city street, Imbue captures opportunities to bring the outside in, even while neighbors are close at hand. From private courtyards and roof decks to backyard gatherings and shaded outdoor rooms, the spaces may be smaller. Still, they work harder, bringing daylight, greenery, and natural ventilation into the home.
A dwelling in the city must connect to the environment. With custom homes, remodels, and accessory dwellings from Salt Lake City and Ogden to San Francisco and New York City, Imbue Design always finds that relationship.
