Silver Creek is a modern, metal-clad home in Park City, Utah, a clean, single-level residence with just enough breathing room for two. The home takes its cues from the land, stepping gently with the terrain: the guest area stays cozy beneath eight-foot ceilings, while the living and master areas rise to a more generous ten.
Outdoor living is measured in seasons rather than square feet: a summer deck, a winter patio, and a sheltered courtyard, each taking its turn, with the distant mountains standing in for the walls. Over the summer deck, a louvered canopy keeps the heat off on the hottest days without surrendering the view.
And the views are the point: floor-to-ceiling windows wrap two full sides of the living room in some of the largest panes of glass available to the region. When the company comes, the guest wing sits well apart from the master, with pocket doors to close it off entirely. Beneath it all, the structure stays square and simple, finished in stained cedar and painted metal, a great deal, done with little.
