an off grid home in a suburban context

Location : Holladay, Utah

Space : 3,250 Square Feet

Completion : 2012

Contractor : Tall Pines Construction

"We are vodka tonic fans, however this should be a beer and wine house."

This was our narrative of the clients and their aspirations for their new home.

We thought, why not have the best of both worlds? The result is a stylishly functional home, simple in it's complexity, great for entertaining and retreating alike.

The home is highly sustainable for comfort and function sake. It employs passive heating and cooling strategies, a geothermal system, a photovoltaic array, a super-insulated non-thermal-bridging envelope, and quad pane windows - they’re off grid in the city.

Cheers!
