The desert is incredibly dynamic, ever changing season to season, day to day, hour to hour. That's what makes central Utah a compelling and spiritual place.
Living in the desert should be equally dynamic.
Emanating from a high-desert hillside amidst rugged volcanic rock and twisted juniper trees, the Buddhist Retreat rises up and out toward a spectacular view of Capitol Reef National Park.
This dwelling was designed to be a second home and desert sanctuary for Tibetan Buddhist practice. The intent is to intertwine everyday activities with singular moments that are typically reserved for spiritual rituals - heightening and sanctifying the act of living.
The architecture elevates life's everyday routines making them more life and less routine.
